About
The first Adoptee Rights Demonstration at the National Conference of State Legislatures' Annual Convention was held July 23rd, 2008 in New Orleans. After this event, the members decided to create an annual protest for individuals concerned with restoring access to birth certificates.
Attendees run the spectrum from adoptees, mothers of adoption loss, adoptive parents, partners, friends and supporters. No matter our individual views on adoption, it is one day for us to come together and focus on the injustice of state-sanctioned lies. Our protests follow the calendar of the NCSL Annual Summit.
The purpose of this group is to answer any questions for those considering attending the protest, or to assist anyone unable to attend the demonstration, but who wishes to hold a similar demonstration in their state.
